Stop the Flu in its Tracks!

By September 22, 2015May 26th, 2017Moments

As the leaves begin to fall, we know flu season is around the corner.

Classic LifeCare requests all Health Care Workers get a flu shot.

The flu vaccine is typicallly available from October to March, but health care workers are advised to get it early in the season to avoid contracting and spreading the flu.

We are tracking flu shot compliance, so please call the office as soon as you get your shot. If you choose to not get the shot, you must wear a mask at all times when working with our clients. Nurses will be doing spot checks to ensure mask compliance.

“The best prevention against the flu is the flu shot and frequent hand washing,” says Susan Fulton, Classic LifeCare’s Clinical Leader. “We can’t stress enough for Health Care Workers to take precautions against the flu so we can keep our clients, employees and families as safe as possible from the flu.”

Elderly people and children and anyone with immune deficiencies are the most vulnerable to the flu.

Provincial websites with instructions on where to get flu shots will be updated by mid October. Please visit:
