Nearly 100 women in need enjoyed a healthy lunch on Classic LifeCare and Crabtree Corner.
Four Classic LifeCare employees volunteered to provide, package and hand out bag lunches with sandwiches, apples and cookies for women through the YWCA’s Crabtree Corner Family Resource Centre on Friday, April 12.
Crabtree Corner provides programs and services for families who need them the most. Located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside – one of Canada’s most impoverished neighbourhoods – Crabtree Corner helps women and their families improve the quality of their lives.
Classic employee Natasa Mihajlovic said the experience was incredible because it feels good to give back to the community.
“It was overwhelming – we almost got teary – walking into Crabtree’s modest building and seeing how amazing it is inside with a kitchen, daycare for the kids, housing. I was very happy to help out,” said Mihajlovic.
Classic LifeCare continues to provide Crabtree with future lunches, clothing drives and financial support.
