Be Care Aware: Who’s Taking Care of You?

By October 11, 2017Moments

Classic LifeCare happily participated in an important video promoting safety and encouraging care providers to take care of themselves, so they can take care of others.

Classic Health Care Worker Maria, when asked by Clinical Leader Susan Fulton, agreed to participate in the video by SafeCare BC. Maria is featured in one video and pictured in another.

The videos are part of a campaign by SafeCare BC called Be Care Aware: Who’s Taking Care of You? The campaign is raising awareness about the importance of balance, support and mental health in the lives of care providers.

Susan suggested Maria for the video because she is a good example of someone who takes care of herself, so she can care for others.

“I thought of Maria right away,” says Susan. “She has worked with Classic for more than 10 years and has always been a wonderful example of balance. She will take time off to travel and recharge, which is so important because the work she does is so emotionally demanding.”

The videos are emotional reminders of the important role Health Care Workers play in the lives of so many clients.

Maria talks about some of the daily challenges of her job, but also why she loves her job with Classic. In the video, she says clients often say to her, ‘Oh, nice to see you. You bring sun to me.’
