Classic LifeCare says goodbye and good luck to dedicated health care worker Annabelle, who is moving to Grand Forks to work in a nursing home.

Annabelle started with Classic LifeCare in 2009. She was previously a live-in caregiver for a man in Hong Kong for 16 years and moved with him and his family to Vancouver.

“My generation was brought up to care for our elders. Now my passion is helping seniors. It’s very rewarding to be there for people when they’re ill.”

Annabelle battled some health issues of her own after she found a lump in her breast in 2011. Following a mastectomy and nine months off work, she is now cancer free.

She attributes her work ethic to being raised in a poor family in the Philippines and learning to work from a young age.

“I don’t like to be bored so I work a lot. But I also like to crochet, arrange flowers, and listen to live music.”

Annabelle said she has loved working at Classic and will always cherish the relationships she built with her clients, their families and the staff at Classic LifeCare.
